The Dana 300 is a part-time gear-driven transfer case. It is a heavy duty transfer case with a nice low range (2.62:1) that can be upgraded to different ratios and stronger parts for an even more bulletproof transfer case. As a result, the Dana 300 is a favorite for custom off-road builds and offers a lot of strength and upgradeability.

The Dana 300 was used in Jeep CJ’s between 1980 and 1986, and can be jointed with any TorqueFlite 4×4 Transmissions.
The Dana 300 is a descendent of the Dana 18 transfer case, using a lot of the same components. The transfer case is completely gear-driven, and does not use a belt or chain of any sort. Both front and rear yokes are 1310.
The transfer case allows for 2-wheel high, 4-wheel high, and 4-wheel low operations.
