Common Problems
High Oil Consumption
According to reports by owners of this engine, higher oil consumption at higher mileage is a concern. One might expect up to a quart of oil every 1000 miles. If you own a high-mileage PowerTech 2.4L, be sure to check your oil regularly.
Modification
The PowerTech 2.4L had a naturally aspirated and a turbo’d version. While it’s not common to upgrade this engine, performance modifications are available. There have been reports of some people swapping in the turbos from 2.4T implementations in vehicles such as the Dodge Neon Turbo.
